Ana de Lima
ANA DE LIMA is a Galician illustrator and designer based in Barcelona.
A visual poet with an Atlantic soul, she graduated in Fashion Design from Goymar School of Design in A Coruña. She later completed her artistic training in illustration at BAU in Barcelona and Saint Martins School of Arts in London.
She has worked as a fashion designer for several brands, specialising in textile prints and surface pattern design.
Her clients include Caramelo, Zara, Women’secret, Pull & Bear, Bershka, Adidas, Cinzano and Abanca, among others.
Her artwork has been exhibited on numerous occasions in both Spain and Germany. She has also published the illustrated books El frío es relativo (Stendhal Books, 2014), Atlas de los lugares que no existen (Mosquito Books, 2016) and La ninfa de porcelana (Penguin Random House, 2017).
Her distinctive style, defined by delicate linework and a naïve-inspired aesthetic, often transports us into whimsical, dreamlike worlds where nature takes centre stage.
The sea, flowers, plants, animals, mountains and trees are recurring elements in her work, alongside universal themes related to emotions and human relationships.
The beauty of simple things and a sense of balance define Ana de Lima’s work.
Ana de Lima was born in A Coruña, Spain, in 1977.
She graduated in Fashion Design in her hometown and later completed her studies in art and illustration at BAU in Barcelona and Central Saint Martins in London.
She has worked with several international fashion brands, including Caramelo, Zara, Women’secret, Pull & Bear and Adidas.
Nature and life are the central themes of her work and her main sources of inspiration. Plants, animals and imaginary worlds form the foundation of her distinctive illustrations.
